Can’t decide between a cup of joe or a glass of beer? Coming soon to Back Forty Beer Company, Cooper’s Coffee Pale Ale (5.5%ABV) is being brewed in collaboration with Seeds Coffee in Homewood. Sounds great!

This coffee pale ale has a light citrus hop background with a mellow, fruit forward coffee blend to create an extremely drinkable ale.

Pau Hana is Hawaiian for a time of relaxation, and Pau Hana Punch Smoothie Sour (6%ABV) is a great beer to battle this summer’s heatwave from Ghost Train Brewing Company

It has a ‘tart wheat base, smoothed with lactose’ and is ‘absolutely blown out with heaps of fresh mango, tangerine, and passionfruit’. It’s a tropical delight!

Check out the competition they have on their Facebook and Instagram feeds to win super cool Pau Hana Punch Yeti cooler (closes Labor Day).

4) Birmingham Tea Party (Birmingham District Brewing)

As a Brit, I did a double take to make sure it wasn’t The Boston Tea Party! Ha!

The Birmingham Tea Party (4%ABV) is a session IPA is aged with Earl Grey Tea! It’s refreshing, fragrant and perfect for these hot summer days.

How is it made? Birmingham District Brewing Co. say, ‘caramel malts bring out a beautiful, light and malty backbone, while Idaho 7, Citra, and Lemondrop hops help balance out the flavor profile’. It’s then aged with five pounds of Earl Grey tea, to create a sweet, earthy, and citrusy beer.

Check out the latest about their beers and classic video gaming nights on Facebook and Instagram.

5) Margarita Blood Orange Gose (TrimTab Brewing)

For this new Birmingham beer, TrimTab Brewing Co. have added Himalayan pink salt to their Gose base, and then they ‘overflowed the tank with citrusy tangerine, pungent blood orange puree and bright lime peel’.

Margarita Blood Orange Goze (4.8%ABV) tastes similar to a blood orange ice popsicle which is well needed in this weather – a true summer thirst quencher. It might even count towards daily vitamin C intake?!
