I tried summer popsicles all across Birmingham – here are my top 10
Juicy strawberries, sweet peaches, fresh watermelon- the tastes of summer in the south. Now you can beat the heat without the peeling, the chopping, or the seeds! I tried the best popsicles in Birmingham, AL and I’m bringing you all my favorites.
Summer has Never Been so Sweet
The popsicle: a true summer classic. Gone are the days that a popsicle was some syrupy liquid in a clear plastic tube that your mom bought in a pack of 100 and you always needed a pair of scissors to open.
These days, you can get an all-natural, locally sourced, gluten-free pop that tastes AMAZING for just $3 and some change. I tried some local seasonal favorites- and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. The hardest part was picking just 10 favorites!

The Winning Pops
1. Strawberry Lemonade from Steel City Pops
Ok, I know I said these were in no particular order, and that was true, but… let’s just say if I was ranking these, this one would still be at the top. It’s so good.
2. Raspberry Lime from Frios Gourmet Pops
Just the right balance of sour and sweet!
3. Banana Pudding from Urban Pops
This may be blasphemous to say in the south, but… These could have your grandma’s banana pudding beat!
4. Peach from Steel City Pops
These are one of the most highly-anticipated summer arrivals here in Birmingham. They come back at a different time every year because Steel City Pops waits for the Chilton County peach farmers to pick their peaches at the perfect moment!
5. Watermelon from Frios Gourmet Pops
My favorite summer fruit of all time, without the hassle!
6. Lemon Iced Tea from Urban Pops
Sounds a little weird, I know. Just try it.
7. Mango from Steel City Pops
I didn’t make it to a tropical island this summer, but this (almost) made up for it.
8. Lemon Ice Box Pie from Frios Gourmet Pops
This is one of my favorite desserts ever, and the popsicle version did not disappoint!
9. Pink Lemonade from Urban Pops
I don’t have any kiddos, but if I did, I would definitely get them this popsicle.
10. Cookies and Cream from Steel City Pops
I know what you’re thinking. This one isn’t reallyyyyy a summer popsicle, is it? Well, you won’t be thinking that when you’re eating one of these. You’ll just be thinking one thing: yummmm.
