Homewood is about to get a deep DEEEEEP discount store thanks to former Zoë’s Kitchen founder and serial entrepreneur John Cassimus. Crazy Cazboy’s will open in the Homewood Commons Shopping Center on Friday, May 10. Here’s what to expect when you go.

Crazy Cazboy’s plans to “take Birmingham shoppers by storm”

Cassimus, who also owns three other discount stores, says the store will be a bargain hunter’s dream.

“We live in the world where e-commerce has killed the giant retailers which has created an opportunity to bring brand new excess inventory and overstocked items to savvy consumers at insanely, ridiculously low prices,” states Cassimus.

Each week, 40,000 – 50,000 items consisting of new merchandise from brands such as Canon, Under Armour, Garmin, Fitbit and everything in between will grace the shelves of Crazy Cazboy’s. Items will be sold for up to 80% off retail. That’ll keep a few dollars in your pocket!

“Like Black Friday, Every Friday” 😍

Items ranging in retail from $500 down to $1, will be placed in dump tables every Thursday and, beginning Friday morning, sold on a descending price structure.

Here’s the schedule:

  • Friday – $6
  • Saturday – $5
  • Sunday – $4
  • Monday – $2
  • Tuesday – $1
  • Wednesday – 25 cents

Each Thursday, the store is closed and fully restocked with new merchandise.

“We expect this concept to take the city of Birmingham by storm. Lines of customers will be waiting hours before the store opens and will be allowed to enter until the building occupancy is met. Then two in and two out,” he said.

Other things to consider when shopping at the discount store:

  • Customers are not permitted to wear large jackets
  • No purses or bags allowed
  • Cash and credit cards only

Cassimus also owns Last Word Liquidators LLC, a liquidation business that operates several e-commerce businesses. He also owns Mike’s Merchandise in Pelham.

Cassimus expects to employ between 15-20 people per Crazy Cazboy’s location and plans to open 5-7 more locations throughout Alabama and neighboring states by the end of 2019.
