Do your smackers look like they’ve been left out in the cold? Not to worry, Bham Now has four locally sourced ways to keep your lips feeling healthy and looking their best this spring. Plus, find out what Dr. Pruitt at Vestavia Family Dentistry & Facial Aesthetics and Magic City Dentistry says you can do to help.

Birmingham’s Best Lip Balm

Nothing can ruin a great face of spring makeup quite like cracked, chapped lips. Making matters worse, most drugstore brand lip balms often compound the problem by not hydrating the area properly. (and the ingredient lists are often longer than the actual tube!) Here are our favorite Birmingham based companies offering up the best all-natural lip balms around:

Freedom's lip balm

That’s a ton and really speaks volumes about the product!  Hippie Lips consists of 4 ingredients- shea butter, coconut oil, beeswax and various essential oils. Price: 2 for $5. Try the Lavender + Peppermint. You won’t be sorry! Get your Hippie Lips on their Facebook page.

Lip Flip

The Lip Flip is the latest cosmetic trend taking over the lip plumping game. Popular with celebrities like Kylie Jenner, (and HELLO, was that an amazing lip transformation or what?) it is the perfect cost-friendly way to give your lips that little pout without going full Mick Jagger duck lip.

Do you have a thin upper lip? Well, don’t worry – Dr. Pruitt at Vestavia Family Dentistry & Facial Aesthetics and Magic City Dentistry can help! He says many of his patients are unhappy with the fact that their upper lip is so thin, but aren’t looking to do filler injections in their upper and lower lips. The Lip Flip solves that dilemma! “This is a huge benefit of The Lip Flip,” says Dr. Pruitt.
