Labor Day is here! Here’s a quick look at what’s open for business in Birmingham
Reading time: 3 minutes
You know the drill: it’s a 3-day weekend and you’ve made plans to take your out-of-town friends to your favorite spot in town. You get ready for the day, you get over to said place, aaaaand it’s closed for the holiday.
Don’t you wish you knew what was going to be open in advance?
Labor Day Plans = Sorted
Have no fear, I’m here with a quick rundown of popular spots in Bham that are open on Labor Day. And also a short list of those establishments that have also decided to take a holiday rest.
Open For Business
The McWane Science Center is fun for the kiddos (and the kid inside all of us). Check out Birmingham’s spot for iMax movies, interactive exhibits, dinosaurs and more. The homeschool day is still on as scheduled.
Vulcan Park and Museum is also open! The newly certified-sensory inclusive park is open to the public on Labor Day. You are free to check out the park and museum as usual, but note that there will be a “Ring a bell for the Rosies” event from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. This event is also open to the public.
The Birmingham Zoo will be open for regular business hours. Stop by for lions, tigers and bears, oh my! I kid. But seriously, people come from all over to visit the Birmingham zoo. See elephants, bears, jaguars and flamingos, just to name a few. Oh, did I mention dwarf goats? Because those guys are pretty dang cute!
Topgolf, one of Birmingham’s newer additions to the nighttime scene, will be open for regular hours (9 a.m. to 12 a.m.). Bring your friends and family to Topgolf in Uptown for a night of golf games, food and drinks.
Sorry, We’re Closed
