Line Cook

Are you responsible, passionate and thrive in a fast-pace environment? Then you may have what it takes to be one of Somerby at St. Vincent’s One Nineteen‘s newest Line Cooks.

Line Cooks are known as the muscle in a restaurant. Why? Because they do a lot of lifting and make things happen in order to get each dish made and served.

Line Cooks are often found in high-end spots, like corporate restaurants, hotels and smaller independent restaurants, which is truly in keeping with Somerby at St. Vincent’s One Nineteen’s environment—especially at their in-house restaurant, The Chateau.

Somerby at St. Vincent’s One Nineteen’s Line Cook will assist the Prep Cook and work alongside the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to prepare, direct and plate delicious meals for residents.

The Line Cook will also be responsible for:

    • Apportioning food for serving.
    • Maintaining high standards for quality food production, nutrition and portion control.
    • Assisting in cleaning and maintaining the cooking area and other kitchen equipment and facilities.
Position Requirements:
    • Culinary degree or equivalent work experience.
    • 2+ years experience in senior living industry or related high-volume, high-end food service environment.

Dining Room Server

Being a Dining Room Server is like performing on stage as you twirl around carrying dishes, helping customers and being polite and full of smiles.

Dining Room Servers at Somerby at St. Vincent’s One Nineteen are responsible for:

    • Serving residents promptly, courteously and in an orderly manner.
    • Preparing the dining room by maintaining proper table settings, clothing tables and folding napkins.
    • Clearing dishes as needed.
    • Preparing for special functions.
    • Demonstrating positive member relations and community quality care and service standards to members, families and guests.
Position Requirements:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
    • 1+ year of related work experience.
