Google announced three years ago that they were investing in North Alabama by bringing a data center to the area, and in April, they broke ground on a $600 million facility in Jackson County. With that investment comes the commitment to help train Alabama workers with the digital skills they need to maneuver and grow with Alabama’s changing economy. The company has already invested $703 million to stimulate Alabama’s economy.
“Alabama is a center for innovation, entrepreneurship and manufacturing. By bringing the Grow with Google tour to the state, we are making a commitment to help develop a skilled workforce that can meet the needs of Alabama’s growing economy,” said Erica Swanson, Google’s head of community engagement.
