Rougaroux is bringing Poboys to Birmingham: Forest Park’s newest and cutest restaurant

Yesterday marked the soft opening for this adorable restaurant in Forest Park. Get the DL here.
Birmingham’s Finally Getting Some Poboys
The owners of Hotbox are collaborating with Rougaroux owner Anne Carter to serve delicious cajun specialities in a cozy way in the ‘ham. In case you live under a rock, Hotbox’s Asian-fusion street food comes straight out of their iconic vintage airstream in Avondale.
Yesterday they launched their next restaurant adventure, Rougaroux, located at 817 39th St S Birmingham, AL 35222.
Serving up cajun poboys and gumbo in the adorable pink house (formerly Pink House cafe), Rougaroux offers Birmingham the New Orleans specialties we have been missing for far too long.
They hit it off with their soft opening yesterday which will continue through the weekend. BYOB temporarily and they will start regular service Monday.
Third Friday in Forest Park
Hop on over to Rougaroux for lunch or even better, for Third Friday in Forest Park!
Shops and restaurants keep their doors open a little longer and offer specials for locals to enjoy Forest Park after hours (5-8 pm).
PLUS local artists turn merchants’ loos into masterpieces with art installations called Tour de Loo. (Yea, you heard me right, their restrooms become works of art.) And this is no joke: Robin Richeson Colter, Creative Director at B-Metro judges installations and awards the winner with a $300 prize.
And not to be weird, but Rougaroux’s bathroom is very cool.
Give them a follow on insta to show the love and to stay up to date on their latest dishes.
