This past week, the 24/7 Wall St. Website ranked our very own Hoover, AL as one of the best places to live in the country. Out of 550 U.S. cities, Hoover made the cut at number 49 based on a host of factors such as crime rates and employment growth. Here are four reasons why Hoover was ranked amongst the best.

1. Their citizens are well educated.

With over half of all adults living in this city having earned the minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, Hoover ranks higher than both the state and country for educated citizens. Educated citizens equals higher incomes allowing the city to live

2. The poverty rate is impressive.

With a poverty rate of 4.7%, meaning less than 5% of Hoover residents live in poverty, this city is a great place to live. The unemployment rate is a stellar 3.3%

3. The city is has a lot to do.

 
This city is definitely fun and lively. With a high concentration of restaurants, movie theaters, libraries, rec centers and other leisure activities, Hoover has a ton of fun venues.

4. Life isn’t overly expensive.

A dollar goes a long way in this city. Hoover’s goods and services are priced 9% less than they do across the nation. That is a lot of bang for your buck.
