Alabama Wildlife Center partnership with Oak Mountain State Park another reason to support State Parks Amendment 2

This weekend, Alabama Wildlife Center Executive Director Doug Adair authored a strong op-ed supporting  Constitutional Amendment 2 – an amendment that will protect and permanently fund Alabama’s State Parks.

Here are  two excerpts from Adair’s al.com op-ed:

“The Alabama Wildlife Center has been fortunate to call Oak Mountain State Park home for almost 30 years. Oak Mountain State Park is Alabama’s largest state park and is an incredible oasis from the hustle and bustle of the Birmingham metro area.”

“I hope you’ll join me in voting yes for Amendment 2, and help by educating your friends and neighbors about this important vote. If Amendment 2 passes and state parks funding is protected, the parks will be able to operate fully and continue providing countless recreational opportunities for all of us.”

For a generation, the Alabama Wildlife Center has been located at Oak Mountain State Park.  One of the most successful public-private partnerships in the state of Alabama, the center has taken care of more than 50,000 wild animals and worked continuously 365 days a year since 1981.

Cherished by all Alabamians, young and old alike, the Alabama Wildlife Center through it’s partnership with Oak Mountain State Park is another reason to support Amendment 2 on November 8th.
