Alabama BBQ Marketing Campaign Given National Tourism Award

Our rich and saucy history has come to fruition as The Year of Alabama Barbecue campaign is rewarded with the best target marketing strategy in terms of tourism.

The campaigns focus was to highlight some of the tastiest and most popular BBQ joints around the state. Promotions for these businesses were carried out by an app, a documentary, landing web page, and other tools.

Our tourism depart has done a wonderful job for the past decade. This has been shown by them winning this award, in different forms, 4 other times before; Year of Alabama Food, the Year of Alabama Arts, the Year of Alabama Small Towns and Downtown’s and the Year of Alabama Music.


We have known that our barbecue of one for the books, but there are many other forms of foodie delights popping up all over the city.

This award is a testament to how dedicated we are to changing peoples perception of our southern Magic through providing great food and a great experience.
