The glamorous, diamond-studded gala will take place on Saturday, August 15 from 6-10pm at Regions Field Event Venue in Downtown Birmingham.

We’ll start the evening with a chic cocktail reception featuring an online silent auction, diamond drop, wine pull and more. Following the reception, guests will enjoy an elegant seated dinner and the official debut of our 2020 Picasso Pets paintings. A glitzy live auction will add to the evening’s excitement, and Hand in Paw Therapy Teams will interact with guests throughout the event!

Habitat for Humanity’s Grill to Build

Our 12th annual backyard BBQ competition and festival; fun for the entire family! There will be live music, face painting, kids workshop, and moon bounces. Teams compete for the best BBQ and bragging rights. Event attendees get all-you-can-eat samples of the best chicken, beef brisket, ribs, sauce, and pork butt in town!

Howls & Growls is a Halloween-themed event that raises money and awareness for the thousands of animals the Greater Birmingham Humane Society serves each year. The event features live music from 17th floor, games and activities, live streaming of the Alabama and Auburn football games, and local food and craft beer from Avondale Brewing and Good People Brewing. Proceeds from the event benefit the continued efforts of the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.

10th Annual Head Over Teal 5K/10K Family Fall Festival

Come join the Laura Crandall Brown Foundation (LCBF) for the 10th annual Head Over Teal Race Day & Fall Festival on Saturday, September 21st at The Preserve in Hoover, AL.  There will be 10k and 5k race courses, live music, food and beverage options, inflatables and face painting for children, as well as an awards ceremony for race winners!

Proceeds from the race benefit the Laura Crandall Brown Foundation and its GYN cancer efforts, including early detection research, awareness education, and support services for GYN cancer patients and families.  Since its founding in 2009, the LCBF has granted more than $500,000 for ovarian cancer early detection research; educated tens of thousands of community members on GYN cancer prevention info, signs and symptoms; and provided emotional, educational, and direct financial support to thousands of GYN cancer patients and their loved ones.

Christmas In July @ The Birmingham Barons

Join the Birmingham Salvation Army’s junior board, Echelon, to celebrate Christmas in July at the Birmingham Barons stadium on July 25th.  Expect to hear your favorite Christmas tunes and catch Santa vacationing in the Magic City. Proceeds raised from this event will support The Salvation Army Education & Workforce Development Center. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Several ticket options are available.

Headliner: Jermaine “FunnyMaine” Johnson was born in Opelika, AL. FunnyMaine is a lifetime class clown and a professional comedian since 2005. His talent has taken him from small stages, to large arenas, television and radio. He’s featured for Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey, Rickey Smiley, Tony Rock, Tommy Davidson and many others. FunnyMaine is perhaps best known for his online college football videos, where he’s turned the ups and downs of Crimson Tide fandom into an art form. Feature: Carla “The Truth” Youngblood was born in Birmingham, AL and is a professional comedienne and motivational speaker providing encouragement and joy with humor. Carla takes pride in being a comedienne who tells it like it is, hence the stage name “The Truth”. In October 2015, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer….she had to talk about. “It is my therapy” says Youngblood. After having 16 rounds of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy and 28 treatments of radiation, she created a show titled “The Truth” about Breast Cancer where she shares her experiences in a unique and hysterical way. This show lead to her being featured on Inside Her Story with Jacque Reid on the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show!

Host: Beth Bloomfield was born in Chicago but has lived in New York, Miami, and more than 20 years in Los Angeles. She’s now bringing the funny in Birmingham, AL. She is the co-founder/co-producer of Grown Up Comedy, which hosts a weekly stand-up comedy open mic show in Hoover and a monthly showcase in Vestavia Hills featuring comics from throughout the South. Beth’s brand of comedy has been described as that of the soft-spoken, intelligent but wickedly funny “square.” Her comedy stems from sharp writing and jokes that spring from everyday life and love, as well as her non-Southerner’s fresh take on living in the South.

5th Annual Bocce Bash

Please join us for the Crisis Center Junior Board’s 5th Annual Bocce Bash and fundraiser! This is one of our favorite events, where we enjoy a full day of games, drinks, food, and fun in the sun.

What is Bocce? Bocce is a cross between skeeball, bowling and shuffleboard. Even players who have never played before have a great time – and can win!

Bocce Bash is a unique annual event that offers a chance to get competitive for a great cause. Proceeds raised support the Crisis Center’s Michael K. Falligant Scholarship Fund, which is awarded on an annual basis to individuals who are in an advanced degree program in the helping profession, including counseling, social work and nursing.

Players and spectators receive 2 drink tickets and food with ticket purchase as well as the chance to enjoy music and additional activities during the event.

Time: Doors open and registration begins at 1:30pm

All players for each team must check-in by 2:00pm.

Game Sponsor – $500 Game Sponsors will have your logo and/or name prominently displayed at the event plus ONE team of FOUR and 4 Spectator Tickets.

Corporate Sponsor – $250 Corporate Sponsors will have your logo and/or name listed on signage at the event plus ONE team of FOUR.

Team – $120 This package registers ONE team of FOUR players. One Team Ticket covers all 4 individual players.

Spectator – $25 Cheer on your friends and watch the competition.

During tournament play, all members of a team must arrive at the bocce court within 5 minutes of their team/bracket being called. If the entire team is not present, the game will be forfeited.Team and sponsorship payments are partially tax deductible.

3rd Annual Southern Cookin’Showdown

The 3rd Annual Southern Cookin’ Showdown, a family-friendly food event,returns to Shelby County this spring. SafeHouse of Shelby County will host the event, with proceeds benefiting its domestic and sexual violence response and prevention programs. The cooking competition will feature four-member teams of both amateurs and professionals competing in categories including Sweets, Meats, and Fixin’s. A panel of judges will determine winners in each category, and guests at the event may sample all of the entries and vote for the People’s Choice award.

The Southern Cookin’ Showdown will begin at 11am and end at 2pm on Saturday, April 27th at Pelham Park. In addition to taste-testing, attendees will also enjoy live music and kids’ activities will be offered.
