For more than 40 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama (RMHCA) has been a safe haven for families—not only from Alabama but across the world—traveling to Birmingham to seek life-saving treatments for their critically ill children.

Their work is important and extends far beyond providing a place for families to rest their heads. They also provide home-cooked meals, activities for families and surround them with love and support via volunteers and staff, as well as other families in similar situations.

But to provide for these families, they rely greatly on generous donations made during their largest fundraiser of the year: The Heart of the House Gala, which is going virtual this year.

Join the Heart of the House Party and Support RMHCA!

Things might be a little different, but RMHCA still needs your support to keep supporting families. To ensure the safety of the Birmingham community, their annual gala is now a virtual Heart of the House Party.

Instead of an in-person event, RMHCA will host a silent auction online and a free virtual gathering Friday, August 7th. The silent auction items include local trips to a lake house, wine, indoor and outdoor furniture, pottery, expert Lego sets and so much more. Those who register for the event will receive a text on their mobile device with a link to the auction. This text will go out when the auction is open for bidding on August 5th.

“Our world is adjusting to a new normal but families always need access to life-changing medical care and a place to stay — free of charge — where they can find comfort and support.

We’re inviting the entire community to get involved because now more than ever, families need YOU!”

Katherine Estes Billmeier, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama
