Notes
We have a rich legacy! You might remember us as Camp Fire Girls, (which is a key part of how our organizational journey began) but fast forward to 2020 where ALL youth are welcome at Camp Fire; we serve every kind of kid, from every kind of family, from every walk of life.
Camp Fire Alabama believes in the inherent potential of every child; and that every child deserves the opportunity to realize that potential. We are committed to making the Camp Fire Alabama experience a positive, significant determinant in childhood and education, across central Alabama.
In 2019, Camp Fire Alabama served over 13,500 children and youth. Over 78% of those were served in classrooms during school hours at the request of teachers, counselors and school administrators. School systems served include Bessemer, Birmingham, Hoover, Jefferson County and Shelby County. The vast majority of those served cannot afford the programs and services offered by Camp Fire Alabama.

The mission of Childcare Resources is to make quality care and education of children happen by providing information, education, and assistance to families, providers of child care, and the community.
We've gone virtual! Back by popular demand, Childcare Resources 2020 Sky's the Limit Conference promises to be as impactful, informative, and inspiring as ever.
Join us for a full day of fun as we virtually connect child care providers to share their commitment and passion for early childhood experiences, while still providing the incredible opportunity to learn and be inspired by some of the top minds in early education.

Notes
Literacy is essential. Struggling to read basic sentences makes it difficult or impossible to navigate everyday life. The negative impact of low-literacy is heightened during these uncertain times and we're working to reduce the effect.
We’re developing ways to help our learners during a time when we cannot meet face-to-face. This includes meeting immediate needs like helping them to understand information about COVID-19. Health information and guidelines can be difficult to consume and digest. We’re also working on options for distance learning and helping them develop digital skills or engage in a world that has suddenly become remote which requires both literacy and digital skills. We're helping the people we serve with both. We’re still here thinking about our community needs. We’re continuing to serve, and we are grateful for your support.
