Position Summary
Responsible for planning, implementation and outcomes for sustained community initiatives fund development to include private, public, foundation, government and grant funding sources.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement coordinated strategies to secure and sustain financial resources that support UWCA Community Initiatives both locally and statewide
- Manage processes for funding applications including meeting time-sensitive deadlines
- Network with private, public, governmental and foundation representatives to identify and pursue financial resources for UWCA Community Initiatives as well as maintain relationships with key funding partners for the purposes of donor growth/retention
- Work closely with Community Initiatives’ SVP, VPs and Programs on funding matters including initial concept approval, submission of requests, funding notifications and on-going program reports
- Coordinate with Grant Writers to develop concept papers and proposals for new federal, state, corporate and foundation solicitations
- Serve as a liaison between Community Initiatives and other departments in terms of providing program and data information
- Monitor, evaluate and report funding activities and outcomes
- Participate in Community Initiatives’ Continuous Quality Improvement Plan
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills
Proven administrative experience with community-based service programs to include public and private sectors
Proven interpersonal, leadership and networking skills
Strong program planning skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Procurement, contracting, grant writing, and grants management experience
Computer proficiency to include Microsoft office suite, Internet, intranet.
Education/Experience
Master’s degree preferred (i.e.: MSW, MPA)
Minimum of five years relevant professional work experience
Requirements
Valid Alabama driver’s license
Reliable transportation
Proof of automobile insurance commensurate with State law
Background checks to include but not limited to criminal record, drug screen, and TB test
Normal office environment with occasional overtime and travel throughout the state
