Responsible for the management, coordination and oversight of the Early Education programs.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct supervision of staff to ensure performance and program objectives are met
- Ensures all program goals and documentation are completed timely and accurately
- Ensures compliance of grant requirements including outcomes and reporting
- Develops budgets and ensures spending is within budget and allowable
- Identifies funding sources and works closely with CI Development team on grant proposals for Early Education Initiatives Identifies collaborative partners for funding applications as needed
- Ensures strategic plan for Early Education Initiatives is implemented and reviewed yearly
- Maintains understanding of all program job functions in Early Education program and serves as a backup to the program staff to ensure adequate program coverage
- Participates in Community Initiatives’ Continuous Quality Improvement Plan
- Participates in campaign speaking events as needed Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Knowledge & Skills Proven experience in early childhood development
- Proven interpersonal and leadership abilities
- Strong organizational, analytical, research and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Proven ability to work in a teamwork environment
- Computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft programs and Internet
Education/Experience
Master’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or social service-related field preferred 5 years professional work experience with supervisory experience preferred; combination of education and experience considered
Working Conditions
Normal office environment. Occasional out-of-town travel and local travel to early learning centers required. Some after-hours and/or weekend work. Lifting up to 30 lbs.
Requirements: Valid Alabama driver’s license
