Position Summary
- Support the Major Gifts team and Resource Development Department with cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors ($10,000+).
- Work closely with fundraising volunteer committees and manage a portfolio of select major donors.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-level service to major donors, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness.
- Recruit, train, and support major donor volunteers and committees.
- Manage Tocqueville Society membership, including stewardship and relationship management with current members, and solicitation of new members.
- Collaborate with finance and corporate relations departments to maintain accurate donor database.
- Prospect for new and existing donors with the capacity or propensity to increase their giving.
- Coordinate activities with other departments.
- Prepare fundraising reports for volunteers and organizational leaders.
- Represent United Way at corporate and community events.
- Support Major Gifts team with correspondence, events, and day-to-day operations.
- Stay informed on community economic and social factors affecting the growth of the Major Gifts Division.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to build and manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals, families, and business leaders.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in database management.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
Education:
- Undergraduate degree required.
Experience:
- 2-5 years of successful fundraising experience, with a preference for experience in United Way or similar organizations.
- Major donor experience preferred.
Required:
- Reliable transportation.
- Proof of automobile insurance.
- Valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions
- Normal office environment, with some travel and occasional overtime.
