Provide accountability, administrative and supervisory oversight for Case Managers and Program Specialists at the assigned site. Maintain quality and productivity controls and maintain staff/site performance benchmark goals.

Responsibilities      

 

  • Provide supervision to case managers and program specialists to ensure veterans and veteran families achieve housing stability.
  • Review and approve team’s documentation including certification, recertification and closure goals for the assigned site.
  • Facilitate weekly supervision meetings to ensure team provides high quality, client-centered service based on Housing First model
  • Ensure consistent contacts are maintained with VA, hospitals, clinics, Vet Centers, homeless shelters and community agencies.
  • Ensure case referrals are assigned within program timelines and completed accurately.
  • Review certification documentation for completeness and accuracy for case manager to submit to Service Point.
  • Review and compare supporting documentation and data entries to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Review Temporary Financial Assistance requests for accuracy and supporting documentation of need and submit corresponding purchase orders.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of grant regulations and program policies and provide technical assistance to staff as needed.
  • Handle client transfers to other SSVF programs.
  • Monitor and ensure achievement of monthly Continuous Quality Improvement goals.
  • Ensure representation at all local Continuum of Care homeless coalitions
  • Ensure relationships with community partners across assigned counties are developed and maintained.
  • Provide crisis intervention and resolve client concerns under direction of Supervisor
  • Actively manage a caseload of approximately 15 veterans and/or veteran families to achieve permanent housing stability

Knowledge/Skills               

  • Case management experience, including knowledge of trauma-informed care and person-first practices
  • Excellent management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to have crucial conversations and provide feedback on employee performance
  • Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite and Client Management System
  • Able to work as team member
  • Familiarity with Housing First, Veteran’s Administration (VA) and/or US Military a plus

Education/ Experience     

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a social service related field; military experience preferred; combination of education and experience considered; supervisory experience preferred

Working Conditions

Services are provided in office, in the community, and in client homes

Some occasional afterhours/weekend work and travel throughout the state

Requirements

Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to be insured by UWCA’s insurance

Valid Alabama driver’s license

Reliable transportation

Proof of automobile insurance commensurate with State law

Cell phone

Background checks to include criminal record, drug screen & TB testing

Ability to lift 30 lbs.
