Develops improvement plans for participating Success By 6 childcare sites; coordinates and conducts support activities of sites; trains and coordinates site volunteers; assists with program evaluation; assists with implementation of Help Me Grow program; performs related duties as assigned throughout footprint of UWCA.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain targeted early childhood initiatives
- Assesses caller/client situation and enters accurate data on all calls into the Help Me Grow Alabama (HMGA) Family Database and makes referrals to appropriate services as needed
- Provides care coordination for families, researches most appropriate resources, provides education and information on development, behavior management and services, and provides advocacy and follow-up as needed
- Maintains HMGA database system for all cases, community resources, and pediatric and family medicine practices in the specified region and ensures information is accurate and up-to-date for required reporting
- Administers the Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2) to interested families which includes, but is not limited to, distributing and scoring, providing families with developmental activities, addressing any care giver concerns, following up with any necessary and appropriate referrals, and managing the data entry for all completed questionnaires into the ASQ Online Database
- Assist in implementation of Success by 6 training and technical assistance at childcare sites in consultation with other Success By 6 staff; and include recommended actions and resources for identified needs.
- Enter data and maintain a database of programs, providers and participants by category and geographic location.
- Provide information and technical assistance to childcare sites regarding childcare regulations and the state First Class Pre-K program
- Identify and recruit new Success By 6 sites each year
- Participate in Annual Plan reviews and complete regular activity logs and reports
- Serve on early childhood and education related committees as appropriate
- Assist in identifying gaps and barriers to services, and system issue trends that parents and/or children experience in utilizing services
- Participation in Community Initiatives’ Continuous Quality Improvement Plan
- Other duties and projects as assigned, specifically those related to achievement of grant deliverables

Ability to work in a team environment
Computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft programs, Internet
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood, education, social work, public health, or related human services field required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience with an emphasis in early childhood education.
Experience in leading trainings and providing technical assistance preferred.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment.
Routine travel to early learning centers and other places as needed.
Flexible schedule with some afterhours and/or weekend work.
Some out- of- town travel required.
Lifting up to 30 lbs.
Requirements
Valid Alabama driver’s license
Reliable transportation
Proof of automobile insurance commensurate with State law
Background checks to include but not limited to criminal record and drug screen
Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to be insured by UWCA’s insurance
