Normal Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:45pm


Job Summary: The Administrative Specialist performs highly responsible administrative duties of a specialized and complex nature under limited supervision. May prepare complex reports, oversee office administration, set up and maintain files, and attend meetings. Position may be responsible for budgetary information and serve as a liaison to other departments.


Additional Department Summary: The Administrative Specialist performs highly responsible administrative duties of a specialized and complex nature under limited supervision. Will prepare complex reports, handle office administration, set up and maintain files, and attend meetings. They will be responsible for the event planning from inception to day-of logistics. The position will be responsible for budgetary information and serve as a liaison between the Executive Director and the Culverhouse College of Business ADEDO Accountant.


Required Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and a minimum of four (4) years of highly responsible general office experience; OR Associates degree and two years of highly responsible general office experience; OR Bachelor’s degree or higher.


Skills and Knowledge: Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work with professional staff and student interns. Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Goal-oriented, able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Self-motivated and self-directed. Comfortable in both leadership and team-player roles. Working knowledge of various computer programs with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel). Must possess knowledge of federal and state grant management practices and budget management practices.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Google Apps for business University Banner 9 system, and University contract management systems preferred.
