Although 2024 has just begun, the year has already brought an onslaught of new businesses to the Birmingham area. One of the area’s most recent anticipated openings is Glass Panda, a new Asian street food-inspired restaurant is expected to open by the end of February.

Bringing elevated street food + ambiance to Hoover

Glass Panda will offer elevated street food with influences from Japanese, Korean and Chinese cuisine. Decorated to mimic a bustling late-night cityscape, you might be halfway through with your yakisoba before realizing you’re not actually on a Tokyo street corner.

In hopes to make Glass Panda an immersive experience for guests, owner Kiran Sunkavalli has partnered with SpeedPro Direct to create customizable design elements all over the restaurant for special events and parties.

“I’ve been working on this concept for the last year and half, and it is so exciting to see it come to fruition with partners like Rob and Tim (SpeedPro Direct), whose team has brought the interior of the restaurant to life which will really amplify our guest experience. We’ve made a promise to never cut corners with the quality of our food, and the same goes for the ambiance we’ve created.”

Take a peek at the menu

According to Glass Panda, the menu will feature various ramen dishes, Japanese A5 Wagyu beef, boba tea and even an original strawberry bao dessert.

It also boasts a full bar with tasty drinks like a spiked green tea cocktail and house beer called Panda Style, an American craft beer infused with ginger and plum wine.

Although there is no grand opening date set, Glass Panda will open before the end of February.
