Birmingham, AL- Red Diamond Coffee & Tea, a passionate advocate for community engagement and social impact, is proud to continue its position as title sponsor of The Red Diamond Classic, one of the most competitive youth soccer tournaments in the southeast.Organized by BUSA (Birmingham United Soccer Association), the Red Diamond Classic will take place the first two weekends of March 2024. The boy’s tournament is March 2-3 and the girl’s tournament is the following weekend, March 9-10.

Games will be played on 25 plus fields across Shelby County, Jefferson County and throughout the Birmingham Metropolitan area. These fields are located in North Shelby County/Dunnavant Valley, Mountain Brook, Alabaster, Cahaba Heights, and Hoover. In 2023, 190 boy teams and 145 girl teams played in the tournament. Teams will travel from several different states to play in the Red Diamond Classic Including Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, North Carolina, Indiana, and Ohio.

Entering its 26th Anniversary of elite-level competition playing games on beautifully manicured Bermuda grass fields, the annual event has become synonymous with the Red Diamond brand. The Red Diamond Classic is one of the largest spring soccer tournaments in the southeast, bringing together over 350 teams this year with players ranging in age from 8 to 18.

“This tournament goes beyond the game of soccer, the Red Diamond Classic celebrates young athletes’ hard work and dedication while developing sportsmanship and character building,” said Bowron. “We are so proud that this tournament has successfully grown and is still thriving. Not only does the Red Diamond Classic bring in a substantial amount of revenue to the Greater Birmingham area, but it is an event that soccer players and families from all over the U.S. look forward to every year as they visit our Magic City.”

Thousands of players, coaches, and families will stay in local hotels, savoring Birmingham’s vibrant culinary offerings and exploring nearby stores. This influx is anticipated to generate a noteworthy $6.2 million economic impact for the Birmingham region this year alone. Over its 26-year history, the Red Diamond Classic has cumulatively contributed $137.8 million in economic impact, making it a significant driver of economic growth and vitality in the community.
