Night in Havanna Cooking Class

Spend “A night in Havana” with Havanabama in an
interactive traditional Cuban cooking class that will be taught by owner, Karlene.
Your experience starts with Cuban appetizers. For this interactive part of the
night, Karlene will teach you how to make Cuban croquetas de jamón, ham
croquettes, and empanadas de carne, beef & potato hand pies, while sampling
Malta.
Your main course will include Ropa Vieja, Cuba’s national dish, which is made of
shredded flank steak, simmered in a tomato base with onions and peppers. Ropa
Vieja, directly translates to “Old Clothes”, will be served with white rice and a side
of sweet plantains. Your meal is accompanied with Cuban sodas; such as Jupiña
and Ironbeer.
The end of the night will have you feeling satisfied and energized with the iconic
pair of creamy Cuban flan and sweet cafecito, Cuban style espresso. While you
dine, Karlene will share stories about Cuba, answer any questions you have,
teach you Cuban words/phrases and pass on tips and demonstrate how to make
this meal at home.
This 1.5-hour event includes…
