Just A Call Away 5K

The Just A Call Away 5K & Fun Run stems from collaboration between the Crisis Center and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Investigators from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department created the 5K to promote the services of the Crisis Center to a broader cross section of the community. This event helps spread awareness and alleviate stigma surrounding mental health issues. Funds raised by the 5K directly support the community through crisis response programs at the Crisis Center.
Participants are eligible to compete for awards for top three overall male/female, top overall masters male/female, top three male/female by age group, broken down into the following categories: Top 3 Overall Male / Female, Overall Masters Male / Female, Top 3 Male/Female, and Age Group Awards: 8 and under, 9-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 70+
Overall and age-group awards will not be duplicated. Chip timing is optional. Runners of all ages and abilities are welcome. Strollers and pets are welcome. Register at Just A Call Away 5K (runsignup.com)
This event is family friendly and includes many fun activities for persons of all ages, including face-painting, a bounce house, lawn games and more. Entry fee for the 5K is $40. Entry for the fun run is $25.
The Crisis Center’s vision is to empower people in their greatest times of need. Our service area includes Blount, Chilton, Jefferson, St. Clair, Shelby, and Walker Counties. Crisis Center, Inc. is an agency of United Way of Central Alabama.
