I’m About to Graduate: What Next?
February 20, 2024 @ 5:30 pm
In 2012, there were 1.43 billion active social media users globally. By the end of 2023, that number surged to 4.88 billion active users. The rise of social media has not only transformed the way we connect, but it has also birthed a new era of career opportunities. Recognizing the growing demand for qualified social media professionals, the Birmingham Social Media Club is excited to host, “I’m About to Graduate: What Next?” — an empowering workshop that aims to equip college students with resources and knowledge to kickstart their careers in social media. This event will be hosted at REV Birmingham – 5529 1st Ave South, Birmingham, AL 35213, on Tuesday, February 20, at 5: 30 p.m. The event is FREE!
“Since the social media profession is a relatively new concept, it can be challenging to determine how to get your foot in the door and manage expectations coming in. We are thrilled to help bridge the gap and provide clarity to incoming professionals!” expresses Hailey Yeager, co-founder of the Birmingham Social Media Club.
The workshop will teach students how to optimize their LinkedIn profiles, Canva hacks, resume building, Meta tips, freelancing insights, and interview preparation skills. Each workshop is designed to provide invaluable insights and practical skills that are crucial for navigating the social media profession.
