Cousin Eddy’s 5K, Kid’s 1-Mile Grinch Chaser and first Annual Polar Plunge

WHAT: Montgomery Whitewater invites media to attend the the inaugural Cousin Eddy’s 5K, Kid’s 1-Mile Grinch Chaser and first Annual Polar Plunge this Saturday, December 9, 2023, beginning at 9 A.M. The races and polar plunge will benefit the local YMCA of Greater Montgomery’s Safety Around Water Program, which provides access to healthy activities and teaches safety skills in and around water. After the race, participants and the public are invited to Santa’s special whitewater arrival, guided by his rafting reindeer, followed by lunch and photo opportunities with Santa at Eddy’s. Montgomery Whitewater will also debut their Christmas Village, where kids can make crafts in Santa’s Workshop, make “reindeer food” and write letters to Santa.
WHO: Montgomery Whitewater, the 120-acre world-class outdoor adventure destination conveniently located just minutes from the heart of downtown Montgomery and offering whitewater activities, an onsite restaurant and an array of outdoor activities as well as festivals, competitions, concerts and events. The YMCA of Greater Montgomery offers a range of swimming lessons, teams and other water activities that foster healthy, active lifestyles for all ages and abilities.
