Follow along as local artist, Sophie McVicar demonstrates illustrative watercolor techniques. This class will be primarily a follow-along demo, with individual assistance as time allows. Students will create an illustration of a male Northern cardinal inspired by scientific illustrations.

We will cover basics in color theory, as they relate to watercolor. We will cover basic techniques that will help you in your watercolor practice, whether you pursue a realistic or more abstract approach. We will work through several exercises and then complete 1-2 cardinal illustrations. Reference materials will be provided.
