Alabama Print, Dye, Stitch, Fold, and Bind with Douglas Pierre Baulos

This investigative workshop will focus on observing and heightening awareness of textures and patterns observed in Nature and learning how to create a beautiful variety of book papers that when added to each create and embodied reflective tool of deep inquiry. Doug will supply grounds and papers / Alabama materials ready for us to use and talk about dyes, biodiversity and sustainability. We will make a “combined” book by binding, collaged and “repaired” and reconstructed page spreads that have we make in the first four hours of class! The final product of the workshop will be a journal that widely explores mixed media possibilities as well as sculptural/emotional possibilities as memoir and journal. Alternative processes to promote sustainable field and personal inquiry in nature, touching and recording, and promoting your artistic and mediation practice will be discussed at length.

UPDATED CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made 14 days or more in advance of the workshop will receive a refund equal to 50% of the cost of the class. Cancellations made within 14 days of the event will not receive a refund. This will help ensure that the instructor will be paid for their time and effort of teaching the workshop.
