A Celebration of Black History

In commemoration of Black History Month and the opening of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra’s inaugural “Momentum Symposium for Future Music Professionals,” the ASO’s Celebration of Black History program includes a narration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s Letter from a Birmingham Jail and Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portraitnarrated by NBC-13 WVTM’s morning news anchor, Carla Wade. Join us on your lunch break for the poignant tribute concluding with Birmingham native, Brian Nabor’s composition: Letters from Birmingham. Admission is FREE and open to the public! Food Trucks will also be on-site after this 12pm concert at the Alys Stephens Center Jemison Concert Hall.
