Taiwan Street Food, new Asian cuisine hotspot, now open in Avondale

Taiwan Street Food, the highly-anticipated Asian cuisine diner just off Crestwood Boulevard next to Gatos & Beans and near Cahaba Brewery, has officially opened.

Located in the former Lag’s Eatery space at 4350 3rd Ct. South, the new open-kitchen concept is operated by Stephen Kao, the owner of Christopher House Antiques.

Asian cuisine favorites: Stir fry, noodle bowls and potstickers

If you are a fan of authentic Asian cuisine this place is for you. The menu is focused on serving up several kinds of stir fry, soups and classic appetizers like dumplings and potstickers. Here are some of the favorites:

  • Beef Noodle Soup
  • Crispy Chicken with rice
  • Stir Fry Shrimp and Vegetables with rice
  • Dumpling soup
  • Potstickers
  • Edamame

Launched on Monday, October 5, 2026, the restaurant is currently in its soft opening phase. It’s current hours are:

  • Monday through Friday, 11AM to 8PM
  • Closed Saturday and Sunday

And now that Fall is upon us, the patio is fully functional and great spot to meet up with friends or take someone out on a date.
