Dimples Flowers opens first brick-and-mortar shop in Woodlawn

Dimples Flowers, the popular pop-up flower truck, officially opened its first brick and mortar storefront on Saturday, August 29 in the heart of Woodlawn.

Located at 5528 1st Ave. South, the new flower shop is a dream come true for owner Kendyl Jones.

“Opening a storefront is something I dreamed about when I first started the business, and seeing it become a reality makes me incredibly grateful to be part of Birmingham’s small business community, and to every single person who has ever bought flowers from us, supported us, or encouraged us.

I really want flowers to feel approachable and accessible to everyone, so I’m excited to bring a little joy to this corner of Woodlawn and create a place where people can celebrate their biggest moments or just an ordinary Tuesday.”

What’s available at Dimples Flowers

The new Woodlawn location is supported by Rev Birmingham, the urban revitalization non-profit group.. The flower shop offers:

• Custom floral arrangements
• Build-your-own bouquet options
• Event orders
• Seasonal stem selections

One of the big questions at the grand opening was the fate of “Poppy the Flower Truck” that regularly operates at Jun Coffee in downtown Birmingham and Soho Social in Homewood. 

Presently, the plan is to keep Poppy’s Friday night Soho Social engagement. Dimples is open to using Poppy for special events.
