Dimples Flowers to open new Woodlawn storefront in Birmingham

If you spend time walking around Birmingham, you may have seen an old, blue truck with a bed full of beautiful flowers parked outside local businesses.
Now, that truck is taking the next big step in its business journey. Dimples Flowers, which is known for its mobile flower truck and pop-up bouquet experiences, is preparing to open a permanent brick-and-mortar storefront in Woodlawn.
Owner Kendyl Crooks started the business in October 2021 when she got her hands on a vintage 1997 Ford F-250 named “Fern the Ford.”

Dimples Flowers brings permanent storefront to Woodlawn
After five years of traveling across the Birmingham metro area with mobile setups and pop-up flower carts, Dimples Flowers is settling into a permanent neighborhood space at 5528 1st Ave. South in Woodlawn through a partnership with REV Birmingham.
“It feels incredible to take this next step. Our fifth birthday is coming up in October, so it feels fitting. I had been scared to take the leap, but really this year just decided it’s now or never.
“We found the absolute perfect space for us, and I’m really excited to be a part of the community in Woodlawn and just spread happiness and joy through flowers.”

What to expect from the new Birmingham flower shop
The upcoming Woodlawn location will offer a designated space for:
- Custom floral arrangements
- Build-your-own bouquet options
- Event orders
- Seasonal stem selections
With the shift to a physical storefront, Fern the Ford will step back from regular street routes and transition to private event hires, special bookings and occasional pop-up appearances.
