If you’re looking for some of the best Fourth of July fireworks and festivals around the Greater Birmingham Area, you’ve come to the right spot. We’ve rounded up 16 events featuring everything from live music to delicious food, and of course, stunning fireworks shows you’ll never forget.

1. I Love America Night at Wald Park, Vestavia Hills

  • What: Your family will have a blast during I Love America Night at Wald Park in Vestavia Hills. The evening will include live entertainment, kids’ activities, live music and a must-see fireworks show. Pack a picnic and a blanket or chairs and enjoy the night.
    • Note: The Vestavia Hills Aquatic Center will not be open for free swimming during the event.

2. Hueytown’s CityFest & Red, White & Boom 2026

  • What: On Saturday, June 27, about 20 minutes west of downtown Birmingham, you’ll find an exciting Fourth of July event in Hueytown. This jam-packed event includes everything from live music and entertainment to food trucks, a kids’ zone and parade at 3:30PM. Stick around—the night ends with a big fireworks show you won’t want to miss.

3. Chelseafest & The Big Kaboom

  • What: Celebrate Independence Day early in June at this annual event with the City of Chelsea. The night will be full of activities for families of all ages, including live music, local food trucks, vendors and one of the biggest fireworks shows in the state.

5. 4th of July Celebration at Helena Amphitheater

  • What: Gather your lawn chairs and head to Helena for a night of live music and more at Old Town Live. The lineup features Monsters of Yacht with special guest Jessie Crowe and The Unrest delivering everything from smooth yacht rock faves to gritty Southern rock and blues. There will also be local food and business vendors and a fireworks show to cap off the night.

6. 4th on the First: Fireworks Celebration at The Hoover Met

  • What: Kick off your Independence Day celebrations early at the City of Hoover’s annual 4th on the 1st. Expect a night of fireworks, family fun and ballpark eats, plus live entertainment and a special appearance by the ZOOperstars! Be sure to grab a spot for the always-entertaining Hoover City Council Hot Dog Eating Contest. Bonus: Hot dogs are just $1 and beers are $2.

8. Fire on the Water at Oak Mountain State Park, Pelham

  • What: Fire on the Water—one of Pelham’s most anticipated Independence traditions—returns Friday, July 3. Arrive early and make a full day of it at Oak Mountain State Park’s Double Oak Lake, with beach volley, fishing piers, playgrounds, watercraft rentals and more, plus a fireworks spectacular at 9PM. Note: Guests are welcome to bring chairs, blankets and coolers, but alcohol is prohibited.

  • What: For America’s 250th birthday, The American Village in Montevallo is going all out this summer, and it includes a two day music and food celebration July 3–4. This special event honors Alabama’s rich musical heritage with live music from artists across the state, celebrity chef demos, food eating contests, a fireworks show on Saturday night and more.

11. 4th of July Fireworks Festival at Smith Lake Park, Cullman

12. Homewood 4th of July Festival

  • What: If you’re looking to entertain your family or friends, downtown Homewood’s annual Fourth of July celebration is a great choice. The fun kicks off at 5PM along 18th Street South and 29th Avenue South with inflatables and rides for kids, music and more. Tip: Bring chairs! Downtown Homewood is one of the best locations in Birmingham to see the Thunder on the Mountain fireworks show from Vulcan Park & Museum.

13. Red, White, Blue & You Festival in Irondale

  • What: Spend the 4th of July in Irondale with America 250 celebrations! At 8AM head to the Farmers & Makers Market to shop local and score a free patriotic waffle, then at 6PM, attend the Red, White, Blue & You Festival for an evening of entertainment. There will be live music by The Official Church Band and Deputy 5, a patriotic parade, food trucks and a fireworks spectacular at 9PM.

15. Independence Day Concert with UAB Summer Band

  • What: Spend Independence Day outdoors on the UAB Campus Green. Stick around after the event for one of Birmingham’s beloved July 4 traditions—Thunder on the Mountain.

  • What: Thunder on the Mountain returns this year for its annual July 4 celebration. This must-see spectacular features more than 2,500 fireworks and effects in a 20-minute show synchronized to a patriotic soundtrack. Music is broadcast on iHeartMedia Birmingham radio stations, including 102.5 The Bull, 103.7 The Q, Magic 96.5 and News Radio 960 WERC. Find a spot near Vulcan, look up at the sky and enjoy the show.
