At the morning ribbon-cutting, Hueytown Mayor Steve Ware said local residents and surrounding communities don’t have to travel 30 miles to get out and enjoy nature β€” β€œit’s in your backyard.”

“This is a great day for the city of Hueytown, not only for our citizens here, but citizens in our neighboring cities around us.”

β€œYou get up on those trails, you can’t hear cars, you can’t hear anything, it’s just you and God.”
