Harbor Freight breaking ground on new location in Fultondale

This week, the City of Fultondale is hosting a groundbeaking ceremony for a new Harbor Freight Tools locations along Old Walkers Chapel Road.

New Harbor Freight coming to Fultondale

Residents in Fultondale will be happy to learn that a new Harbor Freight is coming soon to the Birmingham suburb in northern Jefferson County. The City of Fultondale is hosting a groundbreaking for the new store on Wednesday, June 3 at 10AM.

Located at 1215 Old Walkers Chapel Road on the former site of On Tap Sports Café, Harbor Freight will be located next to the new 7 Brew Coffee at 1504 Main St., which opened in December 2025.

Founded in 1977, Harbor Freight is a tool and equipment retailers that sells hand tools, power tools, generators, shop equipment, automotive parts and other products under its own brands sourced directly from manufacturerers.

Harbor Freight currently operates 36 locations in Alabama, four of which are in the Birmingham area:

• Homewood — 234 Green Springs Hwy, Homewood, AL 35209
• Roebuck — 9120 Parkway E suite a, Birmingham, AL 35206
• Bessemer — 5501 Academy Ave, Bessemer, AL 35022
• Pelham — 3010 Pelham Pkwy, Pelham, AL 35124
