Vestavia’s Rocky Ridge Hardware permanently closing May 30: Liquidation sale
Reading time: 2 minutes

Rocky Ridge Hardware, a fixture among local businesses in Vestavia Hills, announced its last day in operation will be Saturday, May 30.
The local business, which has been owned by the Moran family since 2013, was started in the early ’80s, according to Dan Moran.
“This business has meant so much to our family and to our community, and we are incredibly grateful for the support, friendships, and loyalty you’ve shown us over the years. Serving you has truly been an honor…
“Thank you for being part of our journey. We couldn’t have done it without you.”

What to know about the liquidation sale
As Rocky Ridge Hardware prepares to close its doors, it is liquidating all remaining inventory, fixtures and store assets.
Discounts will be offered throughout the week, so swing by the store or check the shop’s social media pages to learn more.
“Everything must go before we close.”

Fixtures, computers and remaining store assets will be the last things to go, Moran said. Once those are available for sale, it will be announced on Facebook and Instagram.
What’s next for Rocky Ridge Hardware and the Moran family
The decision to close Rocky Ridge Hardware comes as some health issues have arisen with Dan and his wife, and they’d like to spend more time with their family, he said.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Moran said, shopping habits have changed, particularly when it comes to larger, high-dollar items. Additionally, as is the case with many local businesses, the store has seen massively increased property taxes since the Morans took over in 2013.
Rocky Ridge Hardware is available for purchase. To learn more, reach out via Facebook, email or visit the store at 3348 Morgan Drive in Vestavia Hills.
