The ninth annual Birmingham Taco Fest returns to Sloss Furnaces on Sunday, May 17, bringing together more than 20 taco vendors, food trucks, music and salsa dance to the city’s historic industrial landmark.
Hosted by Bare Hands and sponsored by Rubio Law Firm, the annual festival gives locals the chance to sample some of the city’s best tacos while supporting arts education and community programming in Birmingham. Read on for everything you need to know to attend, including where to get tickets.
What to expect at Birmingham Taco Fest 2026


Whether you’re coming to crown your favorite taco in town or just looking for a Sunday outing, Birmingham Taco Fest packs a lot of fun into one afternoon.
This year’s festival will feature:
- 20+ Birmingham taco vendors + food trucks
- Dessert vendors (for your post-taco sweet tooth)
- Patrón margaritas + cocktails by Tito’s
- Ice cold Pepsi products + Estrella Jalisco beer
- Live music throughout the day
- Salsa dancing contest with Salsa Birmingham
- A local art market with handmade goods
- Free arts activities for all ages (through 4PM)

Birmingham Taco Fest 2026: What to know before you go


Planning to attend? Here’s everything you need to know before heading to Sloss Furnaces:
- When: Sunday, May 17, 2026 | 1-7PM
- Where: Sloss Furnaces, 20 32nd St N, Birmingham, AL 35222

- $10 advance general admission
- $15 day-of general admission
- Free for children 12 + under
- Parking:
- Limited free parking will be available in the Sloss field on a first-come, first-served basis. Two lots directly across from the field gate will also be open for parking for $10.

For serious taco enthusiasts, limited $40 early entry tickets are available and include entry starting at 12PM—one hour before general admission.

Note: Tickets include admission only + do not cover food or beverages. The event is rain or shine, so attendees are encouraged to plan accordingly.
More than tacos: Supporting Birmingham’s arts community

Beyond the food, Birmingham Taco Fest plays an important role in supporting Bare Hands and its mission to expand access to arts programming across the city.
Bare Hands has long used signature events like Birmingham Taco Fest and Día de los Muertos to connect Birmingham residents through immersive cultural experiences.
Proceeds from the festival help fund youth arts education, cultural programming and the future Bare Hands Community Arts Center, a planned permanent hub for creativity and community in Birmingham.
