Birmingham-area pet parents, check this out: Alabama Spay/Neuter is introducing a new Low Cost Spay/Neuter Assistance Fund, making appointments available for just $10 this May.

Read on to see if you qualify for this special deal and how to book.

How Alabama Spay/Neuter’s $10 May special works

Alabama Spay/Neuter is kicking off this new program, which was established by VP Funds, a longtime support of animal welfare causes and and Ken Jackson, a well-known philanthropist and animal welfare advocate who also created Remi’s Dog Park and the Remy Fund that supports local nonprofits.

Here’s how the assistance fund works:

During the month of May, qualified households across the Greater Birmingham Area can have up to three pets spayed or neutered for just $10 per pet. That’s less than most takeout orders!

To qualify, one member of the household must verify current enrollment in a government assistance program, including Medicaid, Disability or SNAP.

Pets booked through the program can also receive a rabies vaccination for $15 per pet—half the normal price! That’s a pretty solid deal for responsible pet care.

If you’d like to help keep this program going, Alabama Spay/Neuter is also accepting donations to support its new Low Cost Spay/Neuter Assistance Fund.

A $10 appointment might seem small, but for local pets, families and shelters, it can make a big difference.

The impact adds up. Since opening in 2008, Alabama Spay/Neuter has performed more than 215,000 surgeries, making a lasting difference for pets, families and shelters across the Birmingham metro.

How to book your pet’s appointment

The special applies to appointments made in May, so now’s the time to snag your spot before they fill up. Be sure to check their calendar and plan ahead—high call volumes are expected, so if you leave a message, include two callback numbers. Note: this offer can’t be combined with other specials.

You can bring your pet directly to the clinic or take advantage of monthly transports to Alex City, Bibb County, Blount County, Chilton County, Clay County, Etowah County, Shelby County, Sylacauga and Tuscaloosa.

Find transport drop-off and pick-up instructions here, and check the transport truck calendar for available appointment times.
