We’ve got an exciting weekend ahead, Birmingham! Whether you’re browsing artists and makers at Magic City Art Connection, scoring deals at local bookshops on Independent Bookstore Day or heading to Talladega Superspeedway for a heart-pumping race at the Jack Link’s 500, there’s something for everyone.
Start planning now for these events and more, including a Birmingham Stallions home game and Earthbound Earthfest at Avondale Brewing, a laid-back festival featuring eco-friendly vendors, good eats and live music.

1. Magic City Art Connection
- What: Magic City Art Connection—one of Birmingham’s most iconic events—is set to take over Sloss Furnaces April 24-26. Running for three days, you can admire and buy art and creations from hundreds of artists, see special exhibits, screenings + performances, enjoy great local food and more. The best part: all ages will love it!

2. Jack Link’s 500
- What: Gear up for an adrenaline pumping weekend at ‘Dega with the Jack Link’s 500. The event brings fans to Talladega Superspeedway for three days of high-speed racing, live entertainment and some of the most electric energy you’ll fine anywhere in the state.
