Buffalo Rock completes $300M infrastructure updates with new Birmingham HQ
Reading time: 2 minutes

Buffalo Rock, an independent Pepsi and Dr. Pepper bottler based in Birmingham, has transitioned into its new 127,000-square-foot corporate headquarters off Lakeshore Parkway, marking the final phase of a massive $300 million capital investment strategy.
The move to the Lakeshore Parkway facility coincides with a major manufacturing expansion in Birmingham slated for completion later this summer. These projects are part of a five-year growth plan that has added nearly 2 million square feet of operational space to its portfolio.
Industrial scaling and automation

The Birmingham expansion is a response to a rapidly diversifying inventory. Buffalo Rock now manages over 1,300 stock keeping units (SKU) and 80 trademarks, including a new venture into the alcohol category with brands like:
- Martens BeLite
- Hard Mountain Dew
- Lipton Hard
- Porch Beer
- Telluride Brewing Company
- bubly rosé
Buffalo Rock has focused heavily on improving manufacturing and distribution:
- A 352,800-square-foot distribution hub recently opened in Milton, Florida, to support growth in the Gulf region.
- New facilities in Huntsville, Tuscaloosa and Columbus, Georgia, have been integrated to streamline logistics.
- Portions of the total $300 million investment were directed toward automated sorting and recovery systems.
The new Magic City headquarters

While the new headquarters serves as the administrative brain of the operation, its design focuses heavily on “on-campus” utility, Buffalo Rock said. The Lakeshore Parkway site includes:
- An onsite medical office for employees and their families
- A fitness center
- A wellness park with a walking path and pickleball court
- Modern office and “talent development” spaces
- A company museum
Buffalo Rock currently employs 2,100 employee-partners.
“For 125 years, this company has strengthened our communities, supported our local economies and created opportunity for thousands of families across the state. Their continued investment shows how deeply committed they are to Alabama’s future.”
