SURVEY: Alabama Adventure is 2nd most affordable theme park in U.S.
Reading time: 3 minutes

Alabama Adventure ranked second on HomeToGo’s 2025 Theme Park Index.
The Birmingham-area rollercoaster and waterpark makes the list only a few months after being nominated for USA TODAY’s best waterpark in the US.
HomeToGo Ranking

As we kick off the summer, HomeToGo released a ranking of the 40 most affordable theme parks in the country.
The research took into account ticket prices, parking prices and the median cost of a vacation rental near the park. The 40 cheapest results made the list, spanning 21 states.
Alabama Adventure came in second, with an estimated per-person cost of just $116. It was just three dollars short of first-placed Fun Spot America Themepark – Orlando at $113.
Result breakdown

According to HomeToGo, Alabama Adventure has one of the cheapest day passes of all theme parks in the United States.
The Birmingham area theme park offers adult single-day tickets at just $40, placing it in the top four for cheapest tickets.
The three theme parks with cheaper tickets all cost $39 per day. They are:
- Six Flags Frontier City, Oklahoma
- Six Flags Great Escape, New York
- Six Flags America, Maryland
When it comes to parking, it’s impossible to do better than Alabama Adventure. The park offers free complimentary parking with every ticket, one of five listed parks to do so.
Alabama Adventure lost ground on the final category, accommodation price. Defined as “the median nightly per person cost via HomeToGo for a vacation rental stay near to the respective theme park,” Alabama Adventure came in at $76, 12th on the list. The top nine are all in Florida, with a median cost of $53.
Other Alabama winners

The good news for Birmingham residents? Accommodations costs don’t matter if you live nearby, making the theme park far and away the most affordable summer getaway option on the list for local residents.
But if you’re looking for an alternate option, one other Alabama theme park made the list.
Tropic Falls at OWA, in Foley, ranked 15th on HomeToGo’s list.
Like Alabama Adventure, Tropic Falls offers free parking, but its ticket price is significantly higher at $70 per person. Accommodation price was also higher, coming in at $97, for a total cost of $167.
Alabama Adventure

Alabama Adventure is actually two co-joined parks. Alabama Adventure Amusement Park has the rollercoasters, while Splash Adventure is the neighboring water park, the biggest one in the state.
Across the two sites, there are over 25 rides to enjoy. Park favorites include the Cheddar Chase ride, Rocket Racer slide, the water park’s lazy river and the legendary Rampage roller coaster.
