Continental Bakery in English Village is one of the most beloved bakeries in Birmingham, and for good reason. Everything is made with fresh, local ingredients with quality that can’t be beat.

Call me basic, but a Continental Bakery butter croissant and an iced oat milk latte is one of my favorite treats.

Famous for their (you guessed it) cinnamon rolls, rolls bakery also serves muffins, cookies and savory items like pigs in a blanket, soups and pastas to-go.

I love their funfetti rolls, and you will too!

3. Edgar’s Bakery

With 13 locations in the Greater Birmingham Area, Edgar’s Bakery is a go-to for cakes, cupcakes and other sweets.

The strawberry cake is my favorite! Pop in to try it and thank me later.

With some of the prettiest cakes I’ve ever seen, Daughters Baking is the perfect spot for your next party, or even a quick sweet treat to take for yourself.

We’re big fans of Birmingham Breadworks’ monkey bread—you’ll get it once you try it too.

Plus, this classic Bham bakery makes fresh goods daily, like sourdough bread, croissants and all other baked goodness.

6. Savage’s Bakery

Savage’s Bakery & Deli has been a Birmingham landmark for over 85 years. Since 1939, Savage’s has been slinging pastries, rolls, breads and my personal favorite—smiley face cookies.

7. Hinkel’s Bakery

Hinkel’s Bakery is one of my favorite local businesses to see at Pepper Place.

The beautiful strawberry croissants are enough to wake me at at 7AM every Saturday… race you there this week?

K&J’s Elegant Pastries is a one-stop shop for all of your sugary needs.

Perfecting the art of colossal milkshakes, gourmet cupcakes and wedding cakes, chef Kristal Bryant has earned herself features on Good Morning America, Food Network and Southern Living Magazine.

10. Fultondale Bakery

Serving up everything from donuts to cakes and pies, Fultondale Bakery is a family-owned and operated bakery that has been loved by locals since the 1970s.

Hello Bakery opened in Crestline Gardens a few years ago, but owner Wim Miree has been a well-known pastry chef in Birmingham for nearly 30 years.

You’ll love his fresh-baked goods, including cakes, pies, muffins and even homemade ice cream.

As one of my favorite pre-work spots, Last Call Baking has never led me astray.

Whether it’s a Kouign-amann or the classic ham and cheese croissant, you can’t go wrong.
