3rd Birmingham-area Winn-Dixie to reopen as ALDI in 2025

The Winn-Dixie store at 150 Chelsea Corners is set to close its doors in March, but don’t worry—the space will reopen as popular discount grocery chain ALDI.
Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming switch.
Third Winn-Dixie closure
In 2023, popular German multinational family-owned discount supermarket chain ALDI acquired roughly 400 Winn-Dixie and Harvey’s Supermarket locations across the Southeast from Southeastern Grocers, Inc. as part of ALDI’s goal to have 2,400 stores across the country by the of the year.
While some of the ALDI-owned Winn-Dixie stores will continue as Winn-Dixie’s, others will be converted to ALDI locations. Already, two Birmingham-area Winn-Dixie locations have been converted to ALDI’s:
