Time to polish your resume! October brings a busy run of hiring events across the Birmingham area. Whether you’re after a job in aviation, education or something in between, here are six career fairs and job fairs to put on your calendar.

Oct. 6: BHM Airport Job Fair at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport

Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport is hosting a free job fair with openings for semi-skilled laborers, equipment operators, electricians, airport ramp agents, ramp operations supervisors, auto detailers, rental car drivers, sales management trainees, sales associates and IM specialists.

Come ready to interview on the spot. Bring two forms of ID with matching names. Parking is validated.

Oct. 9: ESS special education paraprofessional job fair in Birmingham

ESS is recruiting special education paraprofessionals for Birmingham City Schools. Attendees can meet ESS District Manager Tamia Sanders and learn about open roles. Experience in education is welcome, but not required.

The Alabaster Career Center hosts its monthly Second Tuesday Job Fair, giving job seekers a chance to meet employers in person.

Oct. 14: Crucial Link job fair at the Oneonta Career Center

The Oneonta Career Center is hosting a job fair with Crucial Link.

Oct. 15: 2026 Employment and Community Resource Fair at Bill Harris Arena

The Housing Authority of the Birmingham District is partnering with the city of Birmingham for its annual Employment and Community Resource Fair. More than 60 employers from a range of industries are expected, including the city of Birmingham, UAB and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. Organizers say it’s also a chance to network and pick up community resources.
