Traveling on I-459 in Hoover between the Galleria and Stadium Trace exits on October 5-6?

Prepare for detours and possible delays.

Over the past three weeks the Alabama Department of Transportation has been resurfacing exit and entrance ramps between Exits 13 and Exit 10 on the popular interstate.

Their work is almost done.

The state agency announced this afternoon they are shutting down this week three more I-459 exit and entrance ramps between 7PM and 6AM each night.

Here are the exit ramp closure dates and details:

  • Oct. 5: Exit 10 — Closure of SR-150 off ramp from I-459S and SR-150 on ramp to I-459N (this road leads you to John Hawkins Parkway and The Grove and Stadium Trace developments)
  • Oct. 6: Exit 13 — Closure of US-31 off ramp from I-459N (this ramp leads motorists to the Galleria and shops along Old Montgomery Highway)

ALDOT is encouraging drivers to use SR-150 (John Hawkins Parkway) between Exit 10 and US-31 as a detour.
