Big Lots in Trussville has closed.

This summer, Big Lots stunned customers when they increased the number of store closings nationwide from 40 to almost 300.

As a result, six Big Lots stores closed statewide in Bessemer, Huntsville, Prattville, Sylacauga and Troy. There are still 23 Big Lot stores left in the state.

The Trussville location at 5903 Trussville Crossings Pkwy, Birmingham, AL 35235 closed this week.

Difficult year for Alabama retail

It has been a difficult year for big box discount stores in Alabama. This summer, Conn’s Home Plus, Badcock Home Furniture and Dirt Cheap closed all their stores in the state.

In November, furniture and appliance store American Freight closed all 10 of its stores.
