This summer, Barry Ragsdale, the President of the Highland Park Racquet Club, expressed his gratitude to partners who made this renovation possible.

“The Friends of Highland Racquet Club is extremely grateful to the City of Birmingham, the Parks and Recreation Board, and Councilor Valerie Abbott, among others, who worked to make the revitalization and resurfacing of the historic Highland Park Racquet Club a reality.

The generous allocation from the City will allow for laser grading and resurfacing of all 10 of the facility’s Hat-Tru Courts with each court getting 20 tons of new material as we all work to restore Highland Racquet Club to a world class facility.

The future for tennis is bright in Birmingham and we thank all those who helped make this happen.”
