Jason Green is a family man, whose decisions in life are guided by his positive outlook and values. After facing some serious health challenges, he’s still here, happy to be doing work he loves with a company he respects.
Keep reading for his story, including what motivates him and where he has worked for the past 11 years.
Meet Jason Green
After playing football in high school, Jason Green worked in a number of manual labor jobs, from cotton mills to steel foundries.
In fact, he considers himself lucky to be here, given that he’s had a total of five back surgeries, and nearly died from COVID-related pneumonia in 2021.
Thankfully, he’s survived all of those health challenges and feels like there’s more work for him to do in this lifetime.
After a shift into information technology (IT), he started working for a business unit owned by EBSCO in 2014.
Two years later, he applied for a job in EBSCO’s corporate information technology department, affectionately known as “CorpIT,” where he’s been working ever since.
He shared a sweet story that shows the kind of person he is and also the kind of support he received at the company:
“When I applied for the job at EBSCO, I went to tell my leadership. I said I had been praying about things and didn’t feel like I would be honoring God the way I should if I didn’t at least explore the opportunity.
During the conversation, he leaned forward and said ‘you’re going to tell me that your priorities are God first, then your family, then your job and then yourself?’
I was thinking ‘he’s about to fire me,’ so I said ‘yes, sir, that’s it.’
Then he sat back and said, well, I have no argument I can make for that, so good luck.”

Outside of work, he’s busy raising two sons and pouring energy into his church community.
Making people’s day better by solving problems
One of the things Jason is passionate about is the ability to “make somebody’s day better and somebody’s job easier by fixing somebody’s problem.” His job allows him to do just that every day.
His job has two key parts: one is basically help desk support, and the other is supporting and growing his team.
He gets a lot of satisfaction from the fact that he and his team get to solve a lot of different types of problems for smart and talented people who work at EBSCO across the globe.
These can range from software to hardware and anything in between.
What Jason appreciates about working at EBSCO
Whenever Jason speaks about his time at EBSCO, it’s clear that he has a lot of gratitude for the ways the company supports him and other employees. Here are some examples:
- New leaders take training classes.
- Leaders are responsible for helping to set up mentorships + provide training for employees who have expressed an interest in learning.
- Leaders repeatedly tell him “If there’s anything you need to get the job done, or that will make things better or easier, let us know.”
- The company works to empower its employees.
Jason, a natural servant leader, appreciates that the company has given him training and support to grow his skills both as a mentor and a teacher in a way that fits the culture of the company.
“One of the biggest things I could say about this organization is you are given the opportunity to learn what you want to learn and grow as much as you want to.”

What’s unique about the culture at EBSCO
I asked Jason what he would say to someone who was thinking about applying for a job at EBSCO. Here’s what he said:
“There are very few things EBSCO doesn’t have a hand in in some form or fashion. For someone who’s coming out of college, there’s a wide array of options available. Whatever interest or specialization you have, there’s somewhere at EBSCO to put that to work.”
