The BJCC’s new downtown Birmingham outdoor concert venue will officially be named The Coca-Cola Amphitheater.

Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED announced it will be the title partner of the new venue, located in the Northside area of Birmingham. The Coca-Cola Amphitheater is set to open Summer of 2025 and will immediately serve as one of the city’s premier live entertainment venues.

“A world-class amphitheater deserves a world-class name, and few names are more iconic than Coca-Cola. The Coca-Cola Amphitheater is poised to become a major venue for live performances in Alabama, and we are invested in promoting the city of Birmingham as a vibrant cultural hub.”

– Conrad Rafield, Coca-Cola UNITED Board Chairman.

The venue is already set to host over 20 shows for the 2025 concert season along with several other special events.

The demand for live music is reaching unprecedented heights, and the Coca-Cola Amphitheater will be the backdrop for unforgettable moments and lifelong memories for fans. Together with Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, we’re proud to bring Birmingham a new venue that captures the spirit of the city’s Northside, celebrates its thriving music scene, and strengthens its place on the national entertainment map. This amphitheater isn’t just a stage – it’s a space where fans and artists will share experiences that last a lifetime, driving Birmingham’s cultural legacy forward.

What we know about Coca-Cola Amphitheater

First proposed in 2022, the Birmingham Amphitheater is an open-air music venue addition to the BJCC campus in Birmingham’s Uptown Entertainment District.

Able to host 9,380 attendees, the amphitheater will host around 20 shows during its summer concert season, as well as a variety of festivals, community gatherings, special events and more.

In May, the BJCC awarded a $46.1 million contract to Birmingham-based Stone Building LLC to build the new amphitheater.

Although the venue is owned by the BJCC, it will be managed by multinational entertainment company Live Nation. Representatives from the BJCC, local and state officials, Live Nation and other organizations involved in the project braved the heat to ceremoniously break ground on the Birmingham Amphitheater earlier this summer.

“It’s an exciting day for the community. It’s another example of many partners working together, in this case the BJCC, the City of Birmingham, Live Nation, and now Coca-Cola who the BJCC has had a long relationship with. We can do big projects like this. We’re excited for the city and the excitement this is going to bring for the Star Uptown development. Also, we now have every major venue type within the BJCC footprint. We have the arena, the two performing arts theaters, the stadium, and now the amphitheater. It now cements the area around the BJCC as the entertainment hub of the state.”

Purchasing the naming rights of the BJCC’s new performance venue is just the latest in a string of recent major investments in the Birmingham community by Coca-Cola.

Coca-Cola UNITED broke ground on a new $330 million facility in Birmingham in June that will create 50 new jobs based in Birmingham.

“We’re proud to call Birmingham home for 122 years, and it’s an honor for us to strengthen that relationship by securing the naming rights to this wonderful venue. A big part of what we try to do in communities that we partner with is to make sure we make an impact and this is a great move in that direction. We believe The Coca-Cola Amphitheater will bring a lot of visitors to Birmingham and that’s very positive for us because it’s going to stimulate the economy here and continue to position Birmingham as a destination for culture and arts.”
