Ready… set… GO!

This November, KultureCity is partnering with the Pihakis Restaurant Group to host its inaugural 5K and half marathon starting at Railroad Park.

Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned pro, this sensory-inclusive event is a great way to get active for a good cause, with all proceeds benefiting KultureCity’s mission toward sensory accessibility for all.

PRG KultureCity Birmingham Race 2024 details

Starting at Railroad Park, the course will be fast and flat with plenty of support and cheer along the route. This sensory-inclusive race will have onsite support for those who need it.

After the race, stick around for music from DJ Suaze, an exclusive performance from The Mosier Bros and a post-race meal provided by the Pihakis Restaurant Group.

BONUS EVENT: The good times don’t stop when the race ends. After a well-deserved post-race nap, visit Iron City at 6:30PM for an evening celebration with KultureCity. Dance the night away with music from country-dance duo MC4D, plus more tasty food from the Pihakis Restaurant Group. (Entry is complimentary for all runners.)

Benefiting invisible disabilities

Did you know that one in four individuals in the U.S. has sensory processing needs? They can affect people with PTSD, autism, dementia, ADHD or strokes.

To these individuals, common sounds, lights, crowds and even certain smells may be overwhelming and even physically painful.

KultureCity, the nation’s leading nonprofit on sensory accessibility and acceptance, is based right here in Birmingham.

With their help, more and more venues, organizations and businesses around the world are providing safe spaces for people with sensory needs to decompress from overwhelming sounds and crowds. In fact, they’ve already helped create over 3,000 sensory-inclusive spaces in the country.
